A private viewing plan starts with deliberate invitations. Check the room's entry settings and share access in the conversation intended for your guests.

1. Review the room's entry mode

Open the Zopley room settings and check the available access options. Choose the arrangement that suits the session, then save it before distributing the invitation. A room name alone does not determine who can enter.

Check room entry mode and intended capacity before copying the invitation. Room access settings are separate from the privacy of an external video source.

If your source is a YouTube upload, review YouTube's privacy-settings explanation. An unlisted video can be shared again by someone with the link; those settings are separate from Zopley room access.

2. Send the link intentionally

Use a group conversation with the people you want to invite. Ask them before forwarding the link more widely. This is especially useful for personal videos, drafts or recordings involving other people.

Send the link directly to the intended guests and label it private. Ask them not to forward it rather than assuming a link cannot travel.

The W3C accessible media guide explains captions, transcripts and audio description. Ask which options your guests need, then test them before the session.

3. Test with one guest

Have a participant try the current invitation and confirm that entry works. If it fails, check the mode and capacity instead of generating confusion with several replacements. Tell the full group clearly if the invitation changes.

Ask one intended guest to enter with the current invitation. Confirm the room name and selected video before inviting the rest.

4. Explain the session's boundaries

Ask guests how they should handle discussion or screenshots outside the group if that matters to the screening. Keep expectations explicit. Room access controls help manage entry, while considerate sharing also depends on your agreement with the viewers.

Explain whether discussion notes, recordings or screenshots are welcome. Get permission from people shown in personal footage before expanding the audience.
